Shopify

The getAddress() Autocomplete app checks every order's Danish delivery address against DAR (Danmarks Adresseregister) on every Shopify plan, and on Shopify Plus adds address autocomplete and company names to checkout. It is free; look-ups come from your getAddress() plan. The same app serves Australia from getaddress.io: connect each country you sell to.

The app is in review for the Shopify App Store.

What it does

Set up

  1. Install the app, open it and press Connect getAddress() for Denmark. Sign in, or sign up free, at getaddress.dk and allow your shop: the app is given an API key of its own on your default subscription. (Or paste an API key instead.)
  2. Leave Check new orders on. Tick Hold fulfilment of flagged orders if you want it; Shopify asks you to let the app manage fulfilment orders.
  3. Plus: in Settings → Checkout → Customize, open the editor's settings and choose getAddress() Autocomplete under Address autocompletion. To add company names, add the getAddress() business name block under the delivery address.

Disconnecting

Disconnect in the app, or under Connected shops in your console, stops the shop's key at once. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it holds for the shop.

Costs

Suggestions are free, however many a shopper sees: the app asks for them text only (kun_tekst=true). Each address picked is one look-up, the call that fetches it (/adresser/{id}). Each order check that finds an address is one look-up. Company name suggestions are free.

Privacy

The app keeps each checked order's delivery address line, order number and result for 90 days, and your API key encrypted, in Microsoft Azure (UK South). Your shop's sign-in to the app is kept, and each new order's address is checked, by the app's server in Australia East. No name, email or phone number is sent to getAddress(). See the privacy policy.
